7 Places In Your Home You Should Not Forget To Vacuum Clean

Perhaps you are an avid carpet cleaner and you are doing a good job of vacuuming every single week. There is no denying the fact that regular vacuuming is the foundation of preserving your carpet clean and in good shape for a long time, especially if it is forced to endure high traffic and other harsh treatment. Vacuuming removes dangerous particles from the area and keeps allergens at bay.

But is vacuuming the carpet the whole story? No doubt you can use this tool on the carpet, but do you know that the vacuum cleaner should be used in a few more areas of your home?

Here are a few places that you should not forget about on your carpet cleaning rounds with a vacuum in hand:

The windowsills

This area of the windows picks up a lot of dust and other debris, especially if you like to keep the windows open. And if you think about it, when you dust various surfaces, you end up with dust on the floor, which is then again a job for the vacuum cleaner. Well, if you vacuum your windowsills directly, you can speed up the process. Just use the brush attachment, if you are worried about scratching the windowsill and follow up with a damp rag/cloth.

Vacuum The Blinds

The blinds

It is never a good idea to let dust build-up on the blinds. When air flows from the window, it will blow the dust around and essentially mess up the rest of the room. This can be very bothersome if someone in your household has allergies. Vacuum the blinds up and down and use the crevice attachment for the task. You can follow up with a blinds cleaner for perfect results.

Windows

And while you are still in the window area, you should be on the lookout for dirt gathering on the glass. Even if there isn’t many, you can still run the vacuum cleaner with the soft brush attachment over the area. There are even specifically made window vacuums, which can save you a lot of effort.

The drawers

Vacuuming your drawers now and then is a cleaning task you should add to your to-do list. It is not a weekly chore, but you can do well by vacuuming some drawers every few months. It is especially important for drawers with clothes, to keep them dust-free.

Vacuuming Your Mattress

The mattress

Vacuuming your mattress regularly is one of the most normal things you should do. Not only does it reduce the risk of dust mites triggering an allergy, but also refreshes the area and provides a better night’s sleep. You can further enhance the cleaning process by mixing up the baking soda and essential oil to sprinkle on the mattress and let it sit for a few hours before vacuuming it up.

The computer keyboard

How often do you clean your keyboard? Do you know that it is one of the grimiest places in your home? You can remedy the situation by vacuuming it up whenever you are cleaning. Run the brush attachment across the keys to picking up any loose debris there.

The fridge coils

Since you don’t normally see them, you may think that the coils of your fridge are clean, but they aren’t. In fact, they harbour a lot of dust and it is up to you to address this task. It is even a good idea to move the fridge, to get better access around it.

Vacuuming all of these areas in your home is an important task that you should not forget about.
